The railway also reached it in 1900 AD, and in 1917 AD the first university, Chulalongkorn University, was opened there.

Grand Palace: Its construction began in 1782 AD when the capital was moved from Siam from Thonburi to Bangkok, where the palace was the residence of the kings of Thailand until 1946 AD when the mysterious death of King Ananda occurred. It is currently considered one of the most important tourist attractions in Bangkok.
