Shafi'i poems

Shafi’i

Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Idris al-Shafi’i al-Qurashi al-Muttalib, the founder of the Shafi’i school of thought, was born in Gaza in the year 150 AH. His father died when he was young, so his mother traveled with him to Mecca, where he grew up. He memorized the Qur’an in his youth, and in Mecca he adhered to Muslim bin Khalid al-Zanji, the sheikh of the sanctuary and its mufti. The reason was to Baghdad, and he would have been killed had it not been for the testimony of Muhammad bin Al-Hassan and the defense of Al-Rashid's bailiff, Al-Fadl bin Al-Rabee', who saved his life, so Al-Rashid released him. This ordeal was a source of good for Al-Shafi'i. His relationship with Imam Muhammad bin Al-Hassan was strengthened, and he took the jurisprudence of Iraq from him, so that Al-Shafi’i would return to Mecca after that, but he returned to Iraq to devote himself to writing, the most important of which is the book Al-Risala. However, it was his stay in Egypt that showed his talents and high verbal ability. He died in Egypt in 204 AH.

Shafi'i poems

  • trust in Allah

I trust in my sustenance to God, my Creator

And I knew that God is undoubtedly my provider

Whatever is of my sustenance, it will not pass me by

Even if it was at the bottom of the dark seas

God Almighty will bring him with his grace

Even if the tongue did not speak from me

In anything the soul goes out of regret

And the Most Gracious has apportioned the provision of creatures

  • Invitation to learn:

Learn, one is not born a scientist

And there is no brother of knowledge like one who is ignorant

And the chief of the people has no knowledge.

small if the hordes turn on him

And if the people are small if they are knowledgeable

Great if returned to the forums

  • one lives

A person lives as long as he lives well

The Oud remains as long as the bark remains

If you do not fear the consequence of the nights

You are not ashamed, so do whatever you want

  • Alas

Alas, boy, an hour

He lives it after performing it

The boy's age if it was in his palm

He threw it after his loved ones

  • Do I make fun of prayer?

do you mock and disdain supplication

And you don't know what the supplication is made of

The arrows of the night do not miss, but

It has an expiry date

  • The fool speaks to me

The idiot speaks to me in all its ugliness

I hate being his answer

Foolishness increases, so I dream more

As a promise, the burning increased it well

  • Why did you forgive?

Why did I forgive and not hold a grudge against anyone

I relieved myself of the animosities

I salute my enemy when I see him

To pay evil for me with greetings

Humans showed the most hated to man

As my heart has been filled with love

People are a disease and people's medicine is near them

And in their retirement, they cut affection

Shafi'i's poems

Among the poems composed by Al-Shafi’i are the following:

let the days do what they want

let the days do what they want

And heal a soul if the judiciary rules

And do not be dismayed at the coming of the nights

There is no survival for the accidents of the world

And be a man over horrors flogging

Your trait is grace and loyalty

And if your faults multiply in the prairies

And your pleasure to have a cover for her

Cover up with generosity every defect

Generosity covers it

And never see the ordinary humiliated

The gloating enemies scourge

Do not seek forgiveness from a stingy person

There is no water in the fire for the thirsty

and your sustenance does not lack deliberation

And it does not increase the burden of sustenance

No sadness lasts, no happiness

You do not misery and prosperity

And whoever descended on his yard

There is neither earth nor sky

And God's earth is wide, but

If the judiciary came down, the space narrowed

Let the days treachery every once in a while

What is needed for death is medicine

I blame the children of the world

I tested the people of the world, and I did not see them

Except from tomorrow, and miserliness fills its skin

I stripped of the sheath of contentment sternly

I cut off my hope from them with a fly

He does not see me standing in his way

He does not see me sitting at his door

Rich without money for all people

There is no richness except for the thing that has nothing to do with it

If an oppressor approves of oppression

and he resolutely succumbed to his ugliness

So it's all to spend the nights, for they are

You will show him what was not in his account

how often we have seen an oppressor rebellious

see the star under the shadow of its stirrups

So for a little while he is in his negligence

The circumstances of the incidents broke through at his door

So there was no money and no prestige to hope for.

No good deeds meet in his book

And my husband is the one who was the actor

And God poured on him the whip of his torment

So if you hear that Majdoud Hawwa

So if you hear that Majdoud Hawwa

A oud, and it bore fruit in his hands, so he certified

And if you hear that he is deprived, he comes

water for him to drink, so he turned sour, so investigate

If it were by the tricks of riches, you would have found me

With the stars of the sky, hang me

But whoever provides for the pilgrimage is forbidden to the rich

Two separate opposites

And the most deserving of God's creation is a person

energetic

It is evidence of the judiciary and its ruling

The misery of the intelligent and the good life of the fool

He who provided for the left did not obtain it

reward or praise for the unlucky

And the grandfather condemns every vast thing

And grandfather opens every closed door

be walking

Be walking in this time as it is

On the other hand, be a monk in his monastery.

And wash your hands of time and its people

And beware of their friendship detracts from his goodness

I searched and did not find a companion for me

Accompany him in eternity and not in others

So I left the bottom of them because of his wickedness

And I left the highest of them for lack of goodness

Eternity is two days

Eternity is two days, safe and dangerous

And living a life that is clear and turbulent

don't you see the sea above it carrion

and settle in the furthest bottom of the pearls

There are countless stars in the sky

and only the sun and the moon are eclipsed
