Remote control

The remote control device, or so-called “remote control”, is an electronic device that allows remote control of various devices. To transmit instructions, several non-wired media are used, such as radio waves or infrared rays.

The controller is used with several devices, the most famous of which is television and many other devices, from air conditioners to cars and others.

التاريخ:One of the first remote control devices was developed by the scientist Nikola Tesla in 1898. US Patent 613 entitled (in English: Method of an Apparatus for Controlling Mechanism of Moving Vehicle or Vehicles) provided a complete description of the device. In 809, Tesla demonstrated to the public an experiment with radio control of a boat during an electronics exhibition in Madison Square Garden. Tesla called his boat a “teleautomaton.”

In 1903, Leonardo Torres Quevedo demonstrated what he called Telekino at the Paris Academy of Sciences, accompanied by a demonstration. At the same time, he obtained a patent in France, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Telekino is a machine that executes commands received by electromagnetic waves.

After the 1939s, many radio manufacturers began to offer headsets for some advanced models. Most of them were attached to the device by a thread. But the Velco Mystery Remote Control (4) was equipped with a battery and a low-frequency radio transmitter[XNUMX], thus forming the first remote control for an electronic device without a cable.

Working principle:The working principle is based on two stages, a transmission stage and a reception stage, while it uses several media such as light rays, sound waves, or radio.

Infrared ruler:The transmission spectrum of an infrared diode for any audio system. An infrared diode emits waves at speeds appropriate to each command. When photographing the camera with a digital camera, it appears as if violet light shines through infrared rays emanating from an infrared diode, a small electronic component that converts an electrical signal with a voltage of about 1.5 volts into infrared light rays (800-1000 nanometers, which is within the range of the spectrum that is not visible to the naked eye). The transmission peak is approximately 940 nm (0.94 microns).

This system has become common in our time, and is used to give commands to various devices from automatic garage doors to controlling televisions, to transmitting sound to infrared headphones.

One of the disadvantages of infrared rays is the way they spread: inside rooms, the rays are reflected on the walls, while outside, the recipient must be targeted and aimed at him to ensure that he receives the command. Although rated between 30 and 40 kHz, neon lights or sunlight can limit its operation to a few meters. Besides, the beam should not be obstructed by any opaque obstacle.

Radio frequency controller:A car door opening control device that works with radio waves. A “radio wave” controller uses radio waves (which are a much larger range than infrared rays) to transmit the electrical signal used invisibly. These waves pass through small barriers such as walls, doors, or a light curtain. As for transmitting commands, it does not require aiming because the waves spread in all directions.
