Haitalia is one of the famous cold sweets in the Levant countries in general, and in Syria and Palestine in particular, where milk is the main ingredient in its preparation, and thus it provides the body with many beneficial nutrients, such as: calcium, protein and many others. Other than that, it does not It raises blood sugar levels and is considered one of the sweets that is light on the stomach. In this article, we will present how to make Aleppo haytalia.

 

Al-Haytaliyah Aleppo

Ingredients

  • Four kilograms of milk.
  • Five hundred grams of cornstarch.
  • A glass of cold water.
  • A cup and a half of coarse white sugar.
  • A tablespoon of vanilla powder.
  • Half a cup of orange blossom water.
  • A cup of milk or vanilla ice cream.
  • Two cups of syrup.
  • Half a cup of finely ground pistachios, for garnish.

 

How to prepare

  • Put the cornstarch in cold water and stir it well so that clumps do not form.
  • Put the liquid milk in a pot, and add the starch dissolved in cold water to it.
  • We put the pot on medium heat, and continue stirring with the hand whisk until we obtain a cohesive mixture.
  • Add vanilla and white sugar and stir with a wooden spoon.
  • We pour the mixture into a suitable tray, preferably a Pyrex tray, then leave it aside for at least a quarter of an hour.
  • We put cold water over the tray until the strawberries freeze, then put them in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
  • We take the tray out of the refrigerator, cut it into small or medium squares as desired, then pour a small amount of orange blossom water over it.
  • We put pieces of ice cream on top of the hetalia, then sprinkle an amount of pistachios on top and serve immediately.

Hetalia with caramel

Ingredients

  • Four cups of liquid milk.
  • Eight teaspoons of white sugar.
  • Six tablespoons of corn flour.
  • Eight pieces of mastic.
  • Half a cup of finely chopped pistachios.
  • A quarter tablespoon of orange blossom water.
  • Four teaspoons to prepare caramel.

 

How to prepare

  • Place the sugar and liquid milk in a suitable pot, and place it over medium heat until the ingredients boil.
  • We put the corn flour in half a cup of lukewarm water, stir it well, then add it to the previous mixture, continuing to stir until we obtain a cohesive mixture.
  • Grind the mastic seeds, add them to the mixture, and stir using a wooden spoon.
  • Pour the mixture into cups evenly.
  • Place the sugar in a thick-bottomed pot, and put it over medium heat until the sugar changes color and becomes brown, then add it to the top.
  • We put a small amount of syrup on top of the hetalia, and decorate it with ground pistachios.
