Where is Al-Akhshbain Mountain located?

Al-Akhshabain Mountain, or as it is also called Mount Al-Akhshaban, is known as one of the mountains located in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, specifically in the city of Mecca, and it consists of two mountains, namely Mount Abu Qubays and Mount Qaqaan, which overlook the Holy Mosque from the east, and Al-Akhshabain has been mentioned. When the King of the Mountains said to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, “O Muhammad, if you wanted me to close the two woods on them, I would have done so.”

It is stated in Mukhtar Al-Sahhah’s dictionary that Al-Akhshabaan is used to refer to the great, rough mountain. However, in the Al-Qamoos Al-Muhit dictionary, Al-Akhshabaan is defined as two mountains in the city of Mecca, namely Al-Ahmar and Abu Qubays, and also the two mountains of Mina.

Mount Qaqaan

It is the mountain that overlooks the Grand Mosque in the Holy City of Mecca from the north and northwest, and extends from a neighborhood known as the Levantine Babali. We find that this mountain has several names according to its view and its supervision over several neighborhoods, as it is known as Jabal Al-Abadi on its northwestern side. It is known as Mount Sulaymaniyah from its eastern side, which overlooks the Al-Ma’ala Cemetery and also Al-Hujun. It is known as Mount Sudan from the side where it overlooks Dahla, and it is known as Mount Al-Qarara from the side that lies between Al-Falaq and Al-Qarara. It is also known as Mount Hindi from its southern side. The highest peak of Mount Qaqaan is 427 meters above sea level.

Mount Abu Qubais

This mountain is considered one of the most famous mountains in Mecca, although it is not the largest among the mountains overlooking this city, and it is mentioned that a mountain flows between Al-Khandama and it, as Mount Abu Qubais is located in the middle between the Ajyad River and the Ali River, and this mountain is one of the inhabited mountains of Mecca. It was said that the reason for naming Mount Abu Qubais with this name is due to the name of the first person who built on this mountain, if he was known as Abu Qubais. It is mentioned that in the days of pre-Islamic times it was called Al-Amin because the Black Stone was deposited in it, and in the past there was a mosque at its summit known as the Mosque. Bilal, but this mosque is not attributed to Bilal bin Rabah, and today it houses the royal palace, and the highest peak of Mount Abu Qubais is estimated to be 372 meters above sea level.
