For his travel because of the distress of his life, where he decided to go to praise the kings of Andalusia, hoping that they would reward him with giving, so his condition would change to the best of him, and he would return to his beloved, except that luck was not on his side, and he did not reap what he went in search of, so he was afflicted with depression, fell ill, and died in the country of alienation.

Praise of Ibn Zureik for Abi Al-Khair

Ibn Zureik al-Baghdadi turned to Prince Abu al-Khair Abd al-Rahman al-Andalusi, and praised him eloquently, as he composed a great poem in it, and it was only from Prince Abu Khaled that he gave him a little tender, which made Ibn Zureik feel the absurdity of his travel to Andalusia, due to the lack of what he took. Which prompted him to remember his beloved, leaving her, and the long distance between them, which increased his grief and sadness. It must be noted that Prince Abu al-Khair Abd al-Rahman gave Ibn Zureik this little gift out of desire to test him if he had written his poem only for money. So he sent for him, but he found him dead, and they found with him a piece of paper containing his poem that he wrote for his beloved, which affected the prince so much that he wept over him.
