- Monitor the growth of the plant until it reaches a length of between 4-6 cm to be transferred, as the transfer process is necessary when the root is formed.
Cultivation of the crown of the pineapple fruit
Pineapple can be grown using the crown of the fruit, by following these steps:
- Cut off the leafy top of the pineapple, with a lower edge about 2.5 cm from the bottom of the leaves. The top part can also be wrapped in a piece of cloth, held tightly, and then pulled in a manner similar to how you uncap a jar.
- Remove all fruit residues at the base of the crown; To prevent the plant from rotting, some leaves must be removed from the bottom, to reveal the root buds.
- Leave the base after cleaning and peeling it for a period ranging between 2-3 days until it dries; This helps prevent rotting of the plant as well.
- After the base dries, it can be planted directly in the soil.
