How to make chicken with onions and tomatoes

Chicken with onions is one of the most famous Gulf dishes in the Arab world. It has a distinctive and delicious taste that is desired by all family members. Ingredients

  • A medium-sized chicken, which weighs approximately one and a half kilograms.
  • Three large onions.
  • Four large tomatoes.
  • A quarter cup of vegetable oil.
  • A cup of natural lemon juice.
  • Three sweet green peppers.
  • Half a teaspoon of black pepper.
  • Half a teaspoon of cloves.
  • Half a spoon of ground cumin.
  • Half a spoon of ground cardamom.
  • Two tablespoons of sumac.
  • Salt, to taste.

How to prepare

  • Cut the chicken into eight pieces, and you can cut it into ten pieces as desired. Then wash it well and remove the skins to clean it well of the fat underneath. Then rub each piece separately with salt, lemon, and water, then soak it for an hour with lemon juice and salt.
  • Cut the onions into rings, and also cut the sweet peppers and tomatoes in the same way.
  • Put the vegetable oil in the oven tray, then bring the seasonings and spices and mix them together in a side bowl, then add the appropriate amount of the spice and seasoning mixture to the chicken, then rub each piece well, and place them in the tray neatly.
  • Place the onion rings, tomatoes, and sweet peppers on top of the chicken, then add the rest of the seasoning and seasoning mixture on top.
  • Add an appropriate amount of water to the chicken, then cover the tray with aluminum foil, then place it in the oven at a high temperature for ten minutes, then reduce the heat to medium. The tray of chicken with onions takes about an hour until it is fully cooked.
  • Then blush the face to get the golden colour.
  • Serve this dish with white rice or add flavors and spices to it as desired. You can also serve it with fresh bread and sauteed mixed vegetables.

A chicken dish contains complete nutritional elements and a high percentage of fiber, protein, and vitamins. This dish is considered one of the healthy dishes that is highly recommended for people who follow long-term diets.
