How do I invent the air conditioner?

The invention of the air conditioner

The first modern air conditioner was invented in 1902 AD, by engineer Willis Haviland Carrier. Experiments began in inventing the air conditioner by controlling the humidity level to solve a specific problem in a printing factory in New York City, USA. Carrier used the laws of mechanical cooling to complete his project. Carrier's cooling system was based on sending air through a series of tubes filled with cold water. In this way, he could cool the transmitted air, in addition to removing humidity from the room and controlling its percentage. After a period of time, in 1933 AD, the Carrier Air Conditioning Company developed a new air conditioner using air conditioning units driven by belts connected to air impellers, in addition to a series of tubes for evaporation, and some mechanical elements. This air conditioner was listed in the American market as an air cooling system.

The working principle of the air conditioner

The refrigeration system contains three main elements and components: an air compressor or piston, a condenser, and a series of tubes for evaporation. To complete the cooling process, air conditioners use a chemical called a refrigerant to transfer the heat of the internal environment to the external air. The three elements of the air conditioner transform the chemical from the gaseous state to the liquid state, and return it to what it was again. The air conditioning or refrigeration cycle begins when the refrigerant reaches the compressor as a cold, low-pressure gas. After the compressor compresses the refrigerant, this brings the refrigerant particles together, which leads to an increase in temperature. The refrigerated substance moves to the condenser as a hot gas, and after entering the condenser, the gas loses its heat. Then comes the role of the fan, which is connected to the outside of the air conditioner, as it draws outside air and brings it through the hot coil. After the air passes through the coils, it loses its heat and thus the refrigerant inside the coil cools.

Willis Carrier

Willis Carrier (1876 AD - 1950 AD) designed the first device to control humidity and temperature in 1902 AD. In 1915, he participated in establishing the Carrier Engineering Company, which later became the largest company producing air conditioning equipment in the world. In 1979, United Technologies purchased Carrier Air Conditioning Equipment.
