Nizwa Castle
The castle of Nizwa is considered one of the most important historical and archaeological monuments in the region. It is the largest castle in the entire region of the Arabian Peninsula. This castle was built by Imam Sultan bin Saif bin Malik Al-Yarubi. There is also more than one fort in this region, including Nizwa Fort, and it was considered the main center of the Imamate in ancient times, and it is considered a center of jurisdiction and administration throughout the ages. It has been said that Imam Salt bin Malik Al Kharousi is the one who built this fort. There are also many mosques and mosques there, including Sultan Qaboos Mosque, Sheikh Mosque and Al-Shawathna Mosque, and it is considered by some to be the first mosque built there, and there is also Al-Ain Mosque and others.
