Location of Turaif city
Turaif Governorate is located in the northern part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is close to the borders of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. It is located near the Northern Cement Factory approximately (50 km) to the east. For Turaif Governorate, in addition to the Al-Jouf Cement Factory, which is located approximately (20 km) southeast of Turaif, and the Phosphate Minerals Company in Hazm Al-Jalamid, approximately (115 km) east of Turaif.
The population of Turaif Governorate is approximately forty-nine thousand people. Regarding the climate of Turaif Governorate, it is moderately desert in the summer and very cold in the winter. The height of Turaif above sea level is more than (850) meters, and Turaif Governorate was given this name after Shuaib Turaif. .
Geography of Turaif
The topography of the Turaif region contains many dry valleys, and these valleys include: Wadi Al-Mara, Wadi Al-Khor, in addition to Wadi Turaif. It is located about 30 kilometers south of it, a free zone called “The Rocky Mountain Free Zone.” Turaif has some natural resources such as gas. The natural mineral, which was recently discovered, is in addition to the phosphate mineral, which is found in the Umm al-Wa'al region, northeast of Turaif, at a distance of (15) kilometers. There is also phosphate in the Hazm al-Jalamid region, a distance of (125) kilometers from the east, and there is a railway to the east, at a distance of (130) kilometers. meters to transport phosphate to the Ras Al-Khair mining area in the Eastern Province. Turaif Governorate includes many neighborhoods, namely: Al-Aziziyah neighborhood, Al-Khalidiya neighborhood, Al-Rawabi neighborhood, Al-Musadieh neighborhood, Al-Faisaliyah neighborhood, Al-Salihiya neighborhood, Sultana neighborhood, Al-Wurud neighborhood, Al-Orouba neighborhood, and Al-Yarmouk neighborhood, and among the neighborhoods that were recently established is Al-Shifa neighborhood.
