The Hungarian people arrived at the current city in the year 896, when their king Arpad led them to it, who took them to the mountains west of the current place of Budapest as a refuge for the protection offered by its rugged terrain, and in the year 1000 these people established a kingdom in Hungary that embraced the Christian religion, and soon after Shortly, many European merchants began to settle in the city's current location on the banks of the Danube River, and established the cities of Buda and Pest.
