He is Al-Zubair bin Al-Awwam bin Khuwaylid bin Asad bin Abdul-Uzza bin Qusayy. His nickname

Al-Zubair, may God be pleased with him, is nicknamed Abu Abdullah, in reference to his son Abdullah, and this is the well-known nickname among Muslims, except that there is another nickname for Al-Zubayr, may God be pleased with him, which his mother had given him, which is Abu Al-Taher.

Islam

His mother, Safiyya, used to treat him harshly and firmly from a young age. She would discipline him and beat him if his interests required it, because she aspired for her son to have a position in the future. Al-Zubayr’s uncle criticized her for being harsh and accused her of hating him.

Al-Zubair bin Al-Awwam, may God be pleased with him, converted to Islam at the hands of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, may God be pleased with him. He was eight years old when he converted to Islam. Al-Zubayr’s uncle bin Al-Awwam was the one who used to torture him until he turned him away from his religion if he could. Al-Hakim narrated in his Mustadrak, with his chain of transmission from Urwa, that Al-Zubayr’s uncle used to hang Al-Zubayr in a mat and smoke over him with fire and say: Return to disbelief, and Al-Zubair would say: I will never return.

On the authority of Al-Zubayr bin Al-Awwam

Al-Zubayr bin Al-Awwam was one of the first to migrate to the land of Abyssinia. He achieved the honor and reward of migration. He also migrated to Medina and achieved the honor and reward of the second migration. The Messenger established brotherhood between him and Abdullah bin Masoud.

He is one of the ten to whom the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, gave good tidings of Paradise, and he is one of the people of the Shura Council who were chosen by Omar ibn al-Khattab to choose from among them a caliph who would guard the religion and govern the world, and he would be the disciple of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, that is, his supporter and supporter against his enemy. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: May God bless him and grant him peace: (Every Bani has a disciple, and my disciple is Al-Zubayr bin Al-Awwam)
