While Abd al-Muttalib, the grandfather of the Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - was sleeping at the Kaaba one day, he saw in a dream that he was being ordered to dig Zamzam, so he informed the Quraysh of that, and they said to him: Did he show you his location? He said: No, so they said to him: Go back and sleep, if it was a vision from God, you will know his place, so he went back and fell asleep, and the same voice came to him in a dream again, and said to him: (Dig Zamzam, if you dig it you will not regret it, and it is a legacy from your greatest father, it never bleeds And do not slander, you water the Great Pilgrims like ostriches that are full of ostriches that are not divided, and a vow is made for them to be blessed. He said to him: (At the village of ants at the peck of the crow tomorrow), and when Abd al-Muttalib took his only son, Harith and his pickaxe, and went to search for descriptions, he found the village of ants between two of the idols of Quraysh, namely: Asaf and Naela, and that was the site where the Quraysh slaughtered offerings, and while he was standing there, as a crow clicked at the place, so Abd al-Muttalib made sure of the correctness of the description and knew that he had been commanded by God - the Almighty - to dig Zamzam, so when they were digging, the Quraysh gathered on him and said: We will not let you dig the place of sacrifice, but Abd al-Muttalib was determined On that, he said to his son Al-Harith: (Get away from me, for by God, I will go ahead with what I was commanded to do). When they knew that he would not back down from that, they left him, so he dug a little, and the water was flowing, and he said: God is great, and he knew that he had found the right place, so when he continued digging, he found swords And two deer of gold, and shields that the Jurhum tribe had buried before they were exiled from Mecca, so the Quraysh rushed to Abd al-Muttalib, and demanded that he make them a share of what he found, but he refused that, and he said to them: Come to a fair matter for you and me, and they said: What is it? His opinion was to hit it with the lighter at Hubal, and to make two glasses for the Kaaba, and for him two glasses, and for the Quraish two glasses, so they agreed to that, and they gathered at Hubal, and he is the largest of their idols, then he struck the owner of the lighter, so the two gazelles were for the Kaaba, and the swords were for Abd al-Muttalib, and the Quraish had nothing, so he made Abd al-Muttalib used the swords and the two gazelles for the Kaaba, so it was the first gold to cover the Kaaba, and he made Zamzam water for the pilgrims.
