This type of method has a great impact on the souls of those who convey it, The Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet are full of stories, and God Almighty said about the stories of the Qur’an: (We narrate to you the best stories by what We have revealed to you this Qur’an.).

Summary of the story of the owners of the cave

One of the stories that the Qur’an dealt with and was the name of a surah from it is the story of the Companions of the Cave. They are a number of young men who believed in God - the Almighty - and followed the truth that reached them, but they were among a people of unbelievers and polytheists, dwelling in the darkness of denial of God - the Almighty -, so the young men were unable to acquiesce to falsehood, so they decided to deny it by emigrating and fleeing with their religion. So they fled their country and isolated themselves from their people, and this step was after they denounced the wrongdoing verbally. So they called their people to monotheism and abandoning the worship of idols, and they demonstrated their belief, which is the monotheism of God Almighty and abandoning the association of anything other than Him, and they said: (Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. We will never call upon any god other than Him. We have said it in error.).

When they decided to leave their country and immigrate with their religion, they turned to God Almighty and pleaded with Him to make their matter easy for them, and they said: (Our Lord, bestow upon us mercy from Yourself and provide for us guidance in our affairs.); So they went out looking for a place to hide. So God Almighty made easy for them a cave prepared to be suitable for the years they stayed. It is wide, and the sun does not enter it when it rises or sets because its door is on the north side, and during the period of their sleep, God - the Almighty - with His power would turn them on their right side and their left side so that their bodies would not be worn out by the earth. He - the Almighty - said: (And We will turn them to the right and to the left.)They remained in this cave for three hundred and nine years, and people did not approach the place where they were, and their dog was guarding them, with its arms extended, making it appear to the observer that they were alive.

God Almighty woke up the Companions of the Cave after their long sleep to ask themselves how much they had slept, and that was a test of faith for them and for those who denied their strength. After they woke up, they sent one of them to the city to bring them food, and when he mixed with the people in the city they discovered their situation, and the people learned that God Almighty - He is able to resurrect people on the Day of Resurrection just as the Companions of the Cave were resurrected after their long sleep, and the Companions of the Cave died after that. The believers and others disagreed among themselves regarding the status of these young men. What should they do with him, when the opinion of the believers prevailed to build a mosque over them, and God - Glory be to Him - has forbidden people from arguing among themselves regarding the number of these young men, and that it is better to delegate the matter to God - the Almighty -, and this story was mentioned briefly and summarized at the beginning Surah Al-Kahf in his saying - the Almighty -: (Or did you think that the Companions of the Cave and Ar-Raqim were among Our wondrous signs? * When the young men took refuge in the Cave and said, “Our Lord, give us mercy from Yourself.” Bring to Us the right path from Our affair. * Then We struck their ears in the cave for a number of years. * Then We resurrected them that We might find out which of the two parties was more accurate, when they had remained for a while.).

Lessons and lessons from the story of the Companions of the Cave

On the journey of calling to God Almighty, the preacher needs to be patient and ask God Almighty for steadfastness and success, until the truth becomes clear and appears, and from the grace of God Almighty for the Companions of the Cave if they were overcome by sleep for this period; By the pure power of God Almighty, and not by their will, and this story is a great verse of God Almighty, as the Companions of the Cave remained in the Cave: (Three hundred years and nine more)And God Almighty said, describing their condition: (And you will think that they are awake while they are asleep. If you had looked at them, you would have turned away from them, fleeing from them, and you would have been filled with fear of them.)One of the benefits of this story is that a person knows that entrusting the matter to God - the Almighty - and trusting in Him and turning to Him is the only way for mercy to descend upon the servant, kindness to him, and his salvation. In the story of the Companions of the Cave, this is shown by the fact that God - the Almighty - preserved their religion for them and kept temptation away from them, and in This is an indication of God Almighty’s kindness to them.

When the Companions of the Cave rose and sent one of them to Medina, they said: (Send one of you with this paper of yours to Medina, and let him see which of you has the purest food, and let him bring you a provision from it, and let him be gentle, and let no one make you feel angry.) A)And they said: (Indeed, if they defeat you, they will stone you or return you to their religion, and then you will never succeed.).
