They saw a firefly (an insect that glows at night) that was flying as if it were a spark of fire, so they thought that firefly was a fire, and they collected a lot of wood, so they threw it on it, and they took to blowing with their mouths and walking with their hands in the hope that a fire would be kindled for them to cool off with (i.e. they would have warmth ) because of cold .

And on a nearby tree a bird sat looking at them and they looked at it, and the bird had seen what they had done, so he began to tell them not to tire yourselves, for what is in front of them is not fire. When he did not find confirmation from them, he determined to get close to them, to prevent them from what they are doing. A man passed by him, and he knew what he was determined to do, and he said to him: Do not seek the correction of what does not straighten, for the solid stone that does not break is not tested by swords, and the oud that does not bend does not You work from the bow, do not get tired. The bird refused to obey him, and went forward to the monkeys to tell them that a firefly is not fire, so one of the monkeys took it and hit the ground with it, and he died.
