As it is mentioned that they were from one tribe, and it was said that the beginning of their love was from their childhood. As they loved each other when they were herding sheep, but after they grew up they parted, and they said that Laila died before Qais, and they said that Qais died in the year 68 AH.

Layla's crazy

Qais bin Al-Malouh was named Majnoon Layla, and it is reported that he was not crazy; Rather, his infatuation, his intense love and his adoration for a girl called (Laila) is the reason for this name. Where his love exceeded all limits, and became an example set among the tongues of lovers, but despite this love, Laila's family refused to marry her to him, so the way was blocked in his face, and tomorrow he was moving from one place to another, and he was seen in the Levant, and sometimes he was seen in Najd, as he was watching in Hijaz.

The story of Qais and Laila was mentioned in the ancient Arab heritage, where the pre-Islamic Bedouin poet Qais bin Al-Malouh loved a Bedouin daughter named Laila. enmity and fighting with the people of Qais; Based on this, they refused to marry their daughter Laila to Qais, so Qais goes crazy on this news, and tries to kidnap Laila by force, but his attempt failed, and he thus did not succeed in reaching his mistress as Al-Shanfari and other tramp poets did, and after that he goes alone to live in the desert , which will be kinder to him than humans and their oppression, then his father takes him for Hajj; to make Layla forget him, but to no avail; As his passion and madness for Layla increases.

And while Qais was in the desert, if Laila was marrying another person, but her love for Qais remained stuck in her heart, so that the longing for Qais was haunting her from time to time, and therefore she was thinking of fleeing to the desert; This was to console her lover in his estrangement and loneliness, and it was said that Laila met him in the desert after her husband's death, and after a while Laila died, then Qais joined her. Thus, the tomb united these two lovers.
