The Holy Qur’an narrated a number of stories in which there were many lessons, verses and lessons, and among those stories is the story of a people who returned, who were too arrogant to reject the call of their Messenger, and insisted on remaining as they were in polytheism and worshiping idols, and what befell them as a result of that turning away from anger and torment. Their story is mentioned in many places.

The story of the people of Ad began when God sent them His Prophet Hood, peace be upon him, with the message of monotheism and faith, and the people of Ad inhabited the region of the Arabian Peninsula called the Al-Ahqaf region, which is an area between Oman and Yemen in the southeast of the Arabian Peninsula, and the people of Ad came after the people of Noah, peace be upon him, who were destroyed by the flood They are an Arab people, and their Prophet Hud, peace be upon him, was one of the Arab prophets.

The creed of the people returned

The belief of the people of Ad was based on misguidance and polytheism, so they took idols from stones that they made with their own hands and worshiped them instead of God Almighty, and so that God establishes the argument against them, He sent them a hood, peace be upon him, who was one of them, to invite them to worship God Almighty alone, and to leave what they are against of polytheism, For the sake of his call, he took all the methods of intimidation and intimidation, as he reminded them of God’s grace upon them and how He provided them with wealth and children, and what He bestowed upon them of gardens and sustainable crops, which necessitates thanking God for that, and terrorizing them from God’s oppression and chastisement of the unbelievers who deny God’s messages. And they insisted on rejecting the message of their Prophet, and when he despaired of them, he warned them of the punishment of God that would surround them, after he had excused God Almighty in conveying them and calling them.

It was the first era of the people of Ad with the torment that befell them when they were afflicted by a state of drought and drought, where they resorted to their idols in the hope that they would save them from the state of starvation in which they lived, and their supplication to them was only in error, and one day the people of Ad saw a cloud accumulating from afar, so they thought that relief It had come to them from their gods, and that cloud was nothing but a harbinger of the chastisement that befell the disbelievers.

As for what was carried by this cloud, it was a loud cricket wind, that is, a very moving and cold wind, and when that wind reached the homes of the people of Ad, it came upon them until it made them like ruins, just as it uprooted them from their homes and hiding places in which they were and raised them to the sky, then it collapsed on them to the ground and made them like incapacitated. The empty palm trees uprooted from the ground, and this torment continued for the people of Ad for eight days and seven full nights, and it was a terrible scene of torment and divine revenge against the wrongdoers.
