How to write an informal letter

An informal letter is a letter that people write for the purpose of directing it to relatives and friends, or any person with whom they have an informal relationship, even if it is a business partner, or one of their employees. The method of writing a letter varies from one country to another, and the method of writing an informal letter can be summarized in Arabic. In the following steps:

  • Write the sender's address in the upper left section of the page, because the addressee may want to respond to the message, so he must know the sender's address so that he can do so.
  • Write the address of the addressee on the cover of the letter, or it can be written in the upper right part of the page directly below the address of the sender.
  • Write the date directly below the sender’s address. It is preferable to write the year, month, and day. There is no objection to writing only the month and day.
  • After that, the content of the message is written in a personal and friendly manner, based on the way the addressee is treated in real life, so that the reason for writing is mentioned in the first paragraph, and in the following paragraphs details are mentioned about the topic for which the letter was written, and in the end, concluding remarks are presented. For the message in the last paragraph.
  • Write a closing sentence such as “I look forward to seeing you soon” or “I hope you are well.”
  • Signature, and the sender has the option to choose the signature method, such as “Good luck” or “Your friend...” and others.

How to write an official letter

The official letter is written by following the following steps:

  • Begin the letter by writing “Dear Sir” or “Dear Madam.”
  • In the first paragraph, the sender introduces himself and mentions the reason for which the letter was written.
  • Write basic information and details about the subject of the message in the second paragraph and the following paragraphs.
  • Clarify the purpose of the letter in the concluding paragraph, writing some sentences such as “I look forward to the opportunity to discuss this topic with you further.”

Tips for writing a formal letter

There are several things to pay attention to when writing an official letter, the most important of which are:

  • Use correct language. The letter must be written in a formal and polite manner, even if it is a complaint letter.
  • Proofread the message after completing writing it, in order to ensure that it is free of linguistic errors.
  • Writing the message in a striking and attractive way, in order to draw the attention of the addressee and gain his interest in the topic for which it was written.
  • Write the address and date in the upper left part of the message only, without writing the sender's name.
