The rose

How to grow roses

Soil preparation

After purchasing the rose seeds, the soil begins to be prepared for planting. Many specifications must be present in the soil to ensure the success of growing roses. Such as the possibility of draining the water after absorption. A hole is made with a distance of at least 50 cm, and it is left open for three days in order to ventilate and expose the soil to the sun. Then, the roses are planted inside the hole and covered with dirt.

Preparing the irrigation system

Watering roses and the soil is not a random matter, but rather has multiple conditions. The smaller the cultivated area, the more water the roses need. Roses need water every 2-3 days, and you must ensure that the water temperature is moderate, while areas with high temperatures need watering. Cold water is used to irrigate it to maintain a suitable soil temperature.

Fertilization after planting

Soil fertilization begins three days after planting roses. It is preferable to use natural fertilizer for fertilization, as artificial fertilizer burns the roots of roses in the soil, especially if they were fertilized before planting.

Pests that may affect roses

  • Powdery mildew disease; It is a fungal disease that affects the leaves and buds of roses, distorting their shape. When infected with this disease, roses can be treated with a 1.5% solution of soda and soap.
  • Rust; It is a fungal disease that affects the leaves in the form of a yellow-orange powder, and it can be treated by pruning the rose plant.
  • Aphid.
  • Red spider insect.

How to pick roses

In order for the beauty of the planted rose plant not to change, when picking it, it is preferable to avoid picking the roses that are located in the front, and to pick those that come at the end of the rows. It is also preferable that the rose is not fully open when it is picked.
