• He left us a number of poems and collections, such as: Diwan Shawqiyat.
• He has several plays, such as: Majnun Layla, The Death of Cleopatra, Cambyses, Ali Bey the Great, Antara, The Law of the Jungle, and Al-Bakhila.
• Among the most famous poems said by the great poet Ahmed Shawqi: The Fox and the Rooster, and The Son of Guidance.

The fox and the rooster

One day the fox appeared

In the slogan of our preachers

So he walked on the earth being guided

He curses the Macrina

And he says: Praise be to God

-He is the God of the worlds

O servants of God, repent

It is the cave of our repentants

And abstain from birds

Living is the life of our ascetics

And ask the rooster to give the call to prayer

For our morning prayer

Then a messenger came to the rooster

From the imam of the hermits

He presented the matter to him

He hopes to be kind to us

The rooster replied: Sorry

O most misguided of those who are guided!

Report me to the fox

About the ancestors of our righteous people

About those with crowns

He entered the damned stomach

They said the best of

Say the words of those who know us

Whoever ever thought was wrong

That the fox has a religion

Al-Huda was born

Guidance was born, the creatures are Zia

And the mouth of time is smiling and praising

The spirit and the angels around him

For religion and the world through purchase

And the throne flourishes and the barn flourishes

And the ultimate and the infallible Sidra

And the garden of Al-Furqan, laughing at usury
