Dahna Desert
The Dahna Desert is considered a desert with abundant red sand. It represents a narrow sand strip, and the width of this strip ranges from 40 km² to 80 km². It comes in the form of an arc extending from the northern side to the southern side, with a distance of up to a thousand square kilometers, and perhaps more. Adjacent to the mountain known as Tuwaiq.

The veins collide with the valleys; What is meant is the valleys of Najd, which cause them to form pools of water, after rain falls, which leads them, and after drought, to these pools turning into lush green meadows, from which the Khurraym Rawdat was known, and also the Tanhat Rawdat.
Features of Dahna Desert
What distinguishes the Dahna Desert is the color of its sand, which is red, and this is due to the density of iron oxide in it. Therefore, we find a similarity between the Dahna Desert and the Greater Nafuth Desert. The Dahna Desert is an estimated 90 square kilometers away from the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the city of Riyadh. Its distance from the city of Hofuf, which is considered part of Al-Ahsa Governorate and its headquarters, is estimated at 150 square kilometers.

We find that in some places the height of the sand dunes has exceeded 2000 feet, and as we head towards the southeastern side of the desert, we find that the band of dunes begins to expand, as we find it reaching in some places up to 50 miles, and it is mentioned that this area of the Dahna Desert It has an important place among most Saudi families, as they visit it especially during the winter season.
