Where did the tsunami occur?

Tsunamis are natural phenomena that occur on beaches, which may cause many different disasters, but in reality tsunamis are not one of the occasional accidents that may occur once every number of years. In fact, tsunamis occur continuously. In the past century, nearly eight hundred tsunamis have occurred around the world. This phenomenon occurred on the shores of Japan, but most tsunamis that occur do not cause much damage. Of the tsunamis that occurred in the last century, only twenty-five of them caused disasters.

The tsunami phenomenon usually occurs as a result of the movement of a large amount of water within the ocean, which occurs as a result of earthquakes that occur within the ocean, volcanoes, or explosions that occur within the ocean, which may sometimes be the result of human actions such as nuclear tests under the water, and may They are sometimes the result of the movement of plates or avalanches that may occur in the ocean, or sometimes meteor collisions that occur in the oceans.

The tsunami phenomenon has occurred throughout history in several different regions around the world. In 1883 AD, it occurred on the island of Karkatoa in Japan, and then extended to a distance of 4000 km to reach Australia. In 1998 AD, a tsunami occurred on the beaches surrounding the Indian Ocean, leaving approximately 230.000 dead, and many sites were drowned in eleven different countries.

Tohoku tsunami

In 2011 AD, a major disaster occurred that resulted in many victims, which was the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, or as it is known as the Great Japan Earthquake, which occurred near the Japanese coast. The tsunami occurred in the Pacific Ocean, and the intensity of the earthquake was 8,9 on the seismic moment scale. This tsunami caused the Fukushima disaster, in which the water reached a height of 10 meters. At the top of the disasters that occurred as a result of this earthquake was what happened in the Fukushima reactor. The nuclear explosion occurred, which led to the collapse of the roof and walls of the reactor, which led to the injury of workers and the evacuation of residential areas around the reactor.

The day after the earthquake, the Japanese government issued a warning about the danger of a reactor meltdown, and the waste resulting from this tsunami continued to arrive. An unmanned fishing boat arrived on the shores of California, and in 2012 some radioactive tuna fish arrived as a result of the explosion that occurred in the reactor, in addition to some other items such as a football, a basket, a motorcycle, and others.
