Shakespeare adopted it in his play, derived from the novelist poem The Tragicall History of Romeo and Juliet in 1562 by the English poet Arthur Brooke, who based his intention on a French translation of a tale written by Italian Matteo Bandello.

The story of Romeo and Juliet begins in the streets of Verona, where there was a quarrel between members of two conflicting families, the Montague family and the Capulet family. After Juliet drank this potion of poison, Romeo came planning to save her and go live together in another city, but he He did not know at the time about this plan, so he thought that Juliet had already died, so he killed himself upon seeing her like this, so Juliet woke up, and saw Romeo dead, so she killed herself.
