Wells were dug by pioneers to search for water or brine in the late nineteenth century, and oil was found at that time, but oil was not of any importance at that time, and with the passage of time and the change of many historical factors, the kerosene lamp was invented, which needed A lot of oil, and in 1856 AD, Colonel Edwin Drake drilled the first successful well through the rocks, to produce crude oil, and some called it Drake Foley.

The discovery of oil in the Arab countries

Oil was discovered in many countries of the Middle East, such as: the Arabian Peninsula, Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and many other Arab countries. In 1944 AD, geologist Everett Lee Deguller informed the US government of the existence of an estimated 25 billion barrels of crude oil. In the countries of the Middle East, and there are at least five billion of them in Saudi Arabia, as oil was discovered in the Arab countries due to the rush to search for oil outside the borders of the United States, and the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries “OPEC” was established in 1960 AD by: Iran, And Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Venezuela, in response to the campaign to reduce oil prices launched by the oil companies.

Oil is defined as a complex mixture of hydrocarbons that are formed on the ground in a liquid, gaseous, or solid state, and this term is often limited to the liquid form that is called crude oil, and as a technical term it may include petroleum, natural gas, viscous form or Steel, which is called the bitumen found in the tar sands.
