Upload a file using a hosting site

Files can be uploaded through the hosting site as follows:

• Locate the file manager section of the user's hosting service.
• Choose the folder that the user wants to upload to the Internet, then click on Upload, download the user’s PDF file from the hard disk of his computer, then click on “OK” or “Upload” in order to start the download process.
• Recording the link to the file so that it can be used, and referring to the PDF file in emails, blog posts, or web pages. In general, the link corresponds to the location of the file. For example, if the user uploads a PDF file within the “example.com” domain, the link will be as follows: http://example.com/private.pdf.

Upload the file using Google

The PDF file can be downloaded through Google as follows:

• Go to the Google home page, and register for a Google Docs account.
• Select the “Upload” icon located in the upper left corner of the “Google Docs” website to be taken to the “Upload Files” page.
• Click on “Select files to upload”, then select the PDF file that the user wants to upload to the Internet.
• Click the right mouse button on the link with the file name after the file downloading process has finished, then choose “Copy link location”, then record the link address that is used in other Internet documents when sharing the user’s PDF file.

Upload files using My Drive

Files can be uploaded using My Drive as follows:

• Open “Google Drive,” and log in to your Google account when prompted.
• Click on the “My Drive” icon located at the top of the home screen in “Google Drive.”
• Select files or upload folder from the drop-down menu that appears.
• Select the required files when browsing the location of the file or folder, then click on the “Open” icon.
• If the file or folder upload was completed correctly, a confirmation prompt will appear in the lower-right corner of the browser window.

Mechanism for uploading large files to the Internet

Files are uploaded over the Internet due to the existence of a protocol called “FTP”, which is the File Transfer Protocol, and they are exchanged over the Internet between computers or different networks, where all information is sent to the Web in the form of small parts, or packages, and when the packages reach the intended destination, they are sent back to the Internet.
