Al-Athmad eyeliner
It is also called antimony stone, Isfahani stone, or black kohl, and it consists of the fifth and third antimony sulfur, as well as some organic compounds such as intamalin, sodium, potassium, and foadin. It is widely found in Morocco, Isfahan, and the Hijaz, and it has many uses and advantages, as the Messenger He, peace be upon him, referred to it in one of his hadiths: (Indeed, the best of your eyeliners is ithamed, which clears sight and makes hair grow.) Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi, and it was also reported that the Messenger, peace be upon him, used it.
Ways to use Al-Athmad eyeliner
Ithmad stone and Zamzam water
- Four stones of Athamd kohl are soaked in Zamzam water for three consecutive days. This step is important to rid the kohl of impurities and dirt.
- Take the stones out of the water, add some drops of castor oil or olive oil, and a small amount of Zamzam water, and then grind them well until they become a fine powder.
- The powder is placed in a special box to be used as eyeliner.
Athmad eyeliner and water
- Fine pebbles are extracted from kohl stones by placing them on fire until they explode or melt.
- The soft pebbles are soaked for forty days in a solution of water and Arabic coffee, and it is possible to replace Arabic coffee with henna leaf water.
- Remove the pebbles from the solution and grind them with a mortar until they become a fine powder.
- Sift the powder before putting it in the kohl using a soft cloth.
Ithmad kohl and rose water
- The kohl is soaked in a mixture of saffron and rose water for three months, during which time the stone becomes soft. Then it is taken out of the mixture and ground using a mortar until it becomes a fine powder.
- Get rid of the impurities stuck in it using a soft cloth. Repeat this step five times, then put it in a kohl.
Kohl Al-Athmad and Limo
- Grind the amethyst stone well until it becomes a fine powder.
- Twenty grams of this powder are taken and lemon juice is added to it, and the mixture must be mixed well.
- Using a cotton dipped in the mixture, rub the hairless areas in a gentle, circular motion. This method usually causes tingling and burning in the area rubbed with this recipe after three minutes.
