And technological, as one of the common concepts of educational technology is linked to the maturity of audio-visuals used in education and educational teaching programs starting from World War I.

There are four elements that researchers rely on when defining educational technology, which are as follows:

• studying: Study means theoretical understanding and practice, because educational technology requires continuous knowledge construction through research and reflective practice.
• Facilities: Identify educational cognitive tools, available learning opportunities, and help learners find answers to their questions.
• education: The concept of education is different from what it was forty years ago, because humans have become able to differentiate between retaining information for the purpose of testing and acquiring new study skills.
• creativity: Creativity refers to research, theory, and engagement in various learning environments.

Difficulty defining educational technology

Technology scholars and practitioners find it difficult and challenging to define educational technology because of the following:

• Defining the specialization of educational technology is more difficult than defining any other social science specialization. Because there is no single knowledge base for it, as is the case in the social sciences, multiple knowledge bases are used in applied fields.
• The process of defining educational technology creates a dissonance between the popular idea of ​​technology related to the latest equipment, and the old idea of ​​technology associated with technological processes.

The role of educational technology in schools

Schools require the use of technological methods to measure students' intangible skills, in addition to special educational programs for students and teachers, such as those that give teachers feedback on students' strengths and weaknesses, guide them through rich and diverse technological resources, and examine each student's logical thinking skills. Their ability to deduce abstract concepts increases, and it is worth mentioning that these things need structural settings because technology provides humans with creativity.
