Antara was born at the beginning of the sixth century AD, and his mother was an Abyssinian maiden named Zabiba, who belonged to Amr ibn Shaddad al-Absi, who captured her in one of his conquests. of his age was killed in a battle with the tribe of Ta'i at the hands of al-Assad al-Ruhais or Jabbar ibn Amr al-Ta'i.
Lineage of Antarah bin Shaddad
Amr bin Shaddad, the father of Antarah, was one of the noblest of the people and the highest of them in lineage, so when Antara was born in his black color, his father did not accept that this child, who resembles slaves, carry his name and lineage. From the hardships of living and the harshness of life when he was young; Because his father did not join him in his lineage until late, and he lived owned by his family, and his father was his master, and he always punished him severely for what he committed.
Antara belonged to his father after a story told by history, which is that the tribe of Tai raided the tribe of Abbas in revenge for it, then Abu Antara shouted at him, saying: Go, Antara; And that was due to his courage, and fearing for the tribe of Abs from destruction and for the women from captivity. Antara replied: No good slave is good, except for the doorkeeper and the belt. His father shouted at him, "Kar, Antara, and you are free," so he attacked Antara with his tribe, until they had victory, and his father attributed him to him after that, so Antara would have gained his freedom with his courage.
