Abu Al-Ala Al-Maari

- Tired of all life

One of the masterpieces of Arab poems is the following philosophical poem by Abu al-Ala al-Maarri, which describes the origin of existence and its apparent and hidden meanings:

There is no glory in my religion and belief. Noah weeps and no singing is loud.

It is similar to the sound of an obituary if compared to the voice of good news in every club.

Did that dove cry or sing over the branch of its flowering branch?

He continues his statement with magic that follows magic in the description:

Shout, these are our graves that fill the vast expanse. So where are the graves from the era of Ad?

Lighten the tread. I do not think the surface of the earth is made up of anything but these bodies.

And what is disgraceful to us, even if the covenant is made old, is the disgrace of our fathers and grandfathers.

Until he says:

Walk if you shine through the air slowly, not swaggering over the remains of the people.

Lord of a grave that has repeatedly become a grave, laughing at the clash of opposites.

And a burial upon the remains of a burial long ago and of the fathers.

Then he adds by saying:

So ask Al-Farqadin about those who felt like a tribe and an Anas from a land.

How long have they stayed at the end of day and the light of a rollercoaster in darkness?

All of life is tiring, so what is most amazing is the one who desires more.

Sadness at the hour of death is many times greater than joy at the hour of birth.

Until he reveals the following:

People were created for survival, favored by a nation that thinks they will run out.

They are only transferred from one house of business to another house of misery or prudence.

The bed of death is a state of rest in which the body rests, and living is like slumber.

How have you been in your place after me, O you worthy of my loss?

The doctor declared that you were incapacitated and the hesitation of the habit was over.

Your despair has ended and you have felt that there is no return, not even the next.

Those who stay awake around you to nurse have slandered. Woe to the eyes of those who shun

Then he declares his philosophy, saying:

You are from a family who lived without being arrogant.

So dear to me is the confusion of the nights, throwing your feet into the valleys

You were the best friend of his youth, and when he wanted what was clear, you agreed with him about what he wanted.

And I saw that loyalty to the first owner is part of the trait of the generous and generous.

You have stripped off the youth as a young man. I wish you had done so with equals.

So go well, going truly, watered with scents and secrets.

Here he says his wisdom in life:

And a legacy: If they were tears, they would erase the lines in chanting.

The boy is miserable, and the shadow of the lotus tree is enough for him to hit the woods and pegs.

If God’s command is fulfilled and the people disagree, then he leads to misguidance and guidance.

And the one in which the wilderness became hot is an animal created from inanimate objects.

The wise man is the wise man who is not deceived by the fact that his destiny is corruption.

Thus, he ends the revelation of his heart, mind, and soul. How I wish the verses of this poem were longer, as each line in it is equivalent to a complete novel, and each line in it is a complete philosophy in itself. So whoever said that Abu Al-Ala is one of the most famous philosophers on earth throughout the ages is right.
