Qais bin Moaz, called Qais bin Al-Malouh, from Bani Jaad bin Ka’b bin Sa’sa, is one of the poets of spinning, and Qais was not crazy, but he was called that because of his intense love and passion for Laila bint Saad, who grew up with him, and as soon as she grew up, her father veiled her from him, and he roamed and hummed chanting In it are poems, and he becomes sympathetic to monsters, and there was no madness in Qais, but it was tainted by it, and it was said that the title of the insane is a pseudonym and that what is attributed to him is poetry composed on it, and among the poems he recited:

Qais's love story for Laila

Qais lived at the beginning of his life in the neighborhood of Bani Amer in a valley known as the Hijaz Valley, which is a valley located between Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah. Isolated and alone, as for his body, it was found in the open, so people carried him to his family, and his death was between the years 65 AH or 68 AH.

  • The first novel: It is said that they met when they were two boys tending the animals at Mount Thawban, and they remained like this until the love grew between them and their emotions grew.
  • The second novel: It is said that Qais passed by girls, so he gave them peace, then he got off his mount and barren it and fed them, then it was not until evening that another boy passed, so they were distracted by it from Qais, so he was angry and sang poetry in it, and in the morning Qais went down in the same house that he stayed in yesterday, and he found only Laila So she invited him to talk, so he responded to her and did for her what he had done with her friends the day before, and when she offered him grief for that, then she was kind to him and declared his love to him and sang poetry for him, and as soon as he heard it, he fell unconscious.
  • The third novel: It is said that Qais was fond of women, and Laila was the best of them and the most beautiful of them all.
