Freezing
Ice is used to remove gum from clothes in several ways, as follows:
- Using ice directly: This method is used to remove gum from heavy or thick clothes by placing some ice cubes in a freezer bag, then placing the bag on the stain and leaving it until the gum freezes completely, then scraping it off using a sharp knife.
- Clothes sorting: The method is used to remove gum from sensitive clothes, by placing the piece of clothing in a freezer bag until it freezes, then scraping off the remaining gum using a toothbrush, or by rubbing with an ice cube.
- Using ice with laundry detergent: Place a cube of ice under the piece of clothing and directly under the gum, and place another piece directly above the gum, and leave the ice for about half an hour until it freezes, then remove it and place the piece of clothing on a flat surface, scrape it using the edge of a knife, then wash the area using laundry detergent.

Heating means using a heat source indirectly, and one of the most prominent heating methods is using:
- Hair Dryer: Shine a hair dryer on the gum to melt it, then remove it from the piece by hand.
- iron: Place a piece of cardboard on the ironing board or on a flat surface, and place the piece of clothing from the side of the gum on top of the cardboard, then iron the piece of clothing from the other direction for several minutes, provided that the heat is high and sufficient to melt the gum so that it sticks to the cardboard, then it is removed from it.
