Factory reset Samsung via settings

Below are the steps to factory reset your Samsung device through the settings menu on the device:

  • Open the Apps list on your Samsung phone.
  • Go to the Settings application.
  • Click on the General Management option.
  • Click on the Reset option.
  • Choose the Factory Data Reset option.
  • Click on the Reset option, or the Reset Device option.
  • Click on the Delete All option, and wait until the device software screen appears.
  • Go to the Wipe data/factory reset option by pressing the Volume Down key on the device.
  • Press the Power key on the device.
  • Use the Volume Down key to select the Yes option, then press the Power key again.
  • Press the Power key to choose the Reboot System option.

Factory reset via keys

The Samsung device keys can be used to create software for it. This method is useful if the user is unable to access the settings. Below are the steps to do this:

  • Close the Samsung device for which you want to install software.
  • Press and hold the Volume up, Power, and Home buttons at the same time.
  • Release the power key when the device vibrates.
  • Release pressure on the rest of the buttons when a menu appears on the device screen.
  • Use the Volume Down key to access the Delete all user data option.
  • Press the Power key.
  • Use the Power key to navigate to the consent option (Yes – delete all user data), then select it.
  • Choose the reboot option.

Factory reset Samsung remotely

You can factory reset your Samsung device and erase all data on it remotely, by using the Find My Mobile application, by following the following steps:

  • Go to the Find My Device application page. This page can be accessed by clicking on the electronic link Click here.
  • Log in to the page using your Google account.
  • Click on the Enable lock & erase option.
  • Click on the Erase data option.
Note: Use of this application requires that the device be turned on, signed in with a Google account, and have location enabled.

How to take a backup on a Samsung device

A Samsung phone user can take a backup copy of his mobile phone before performing a factory reset, through the following steps:

  • Open applications on the Samsung phone's home screen (Apps).
  • Open the Samsung phone settings menu, and then click on the (Settings) option.
  • Click on the (Cloud and Accounts) option, then choose the (Backup and Restore) option.
  • Choose the option (Back Up My Data) that appears in the (Google Account) list.
  • Click on the (Off) button to change it to (On) to start taking a backup copy of your Samsung phone data.
