Controlling the TV via mobile phone
If you have a smart Android TV device that can connect to the Wi-Fi feature, you can use your smartphone to control the TV instead of the remote, which is an easy and convenient process to implement, especially if you lost the TV remote control, and do not forget that this feature only works With smart TVs running the Android operating system and not large flat or traditional TVs.
Steps
TV setup
- Plug it into the electrical socket and start it.
- Open the Settings page, and press the Menu button on your remote to view the options specific to your TV. The Smart TV screen menu and settings look pretty much the same as any Android smart device or tablet, and if you are familiar with this system it will become easier.
- Connect your TV to a Wi-Fi network: Choose Internet Settings from the main menu and choose your Wi-Fi network.
- If your Internet network is password-protected, a new menu will appear on your TV screen containing a keyboard, so you can type the password using the arrow keys to move across all the letters of the keyboard and the “enter” button to agree.
Using the mobile phone as a control device
- Launch Google Play Store, and click on the program icon from the home screen of your phone. The Google Play Store is where you can download and install software designed specifically for devices using the Android operating system.
- Search for the custom software program: Click on the search spot, type “Remote Control for TV”, and click the Start Search button.
- The application will display some of its available options, choose the program developed by “SydneyApps”.
- Download and install the “Remote Control for TV” program on your mobile phone, and press the download button next to the program name to download it to your mobile phone.
- The app icon will appear on the home screen once it is installed successfully.
- Open the program: Click on the “Remote Control for TV” program icon from the main screen of your mobile phone. The program will search for any smart TV device connected to your Wi-Fi network and display it on the screen. All you have to do now is click on the name of the TV that you are using. You have to select it, and now you can start.
- Control your TV via your mobile phone: On the main program screen you will see buttons to control the volume, change channels, open the main menu and the play button. Use these buttons to control your TV.
- When you are finished using your mobile phone as a TV remote, you can simply move on to using your mobile phone as usual by pressing the back button.
