By 2014 AD, a decision was issued to start work on it, after the maps were reshaped and modified to suit the new project, and they began Work on the project and complete it within one year, with full funding from the Egyptian government.

Digging the new Suez Canal

The new Suez Canal was dug with full funding from the Egyptian people through the offering of interest-bearing bonds on the stock market. US$8.4 billion was raised within just 8 days after the completion of financing and bidding. It is worth noting that the project was completed within one year. The dry excavation work amounted to 258 million cubic meters at an estimated cost of 4 billion pounds. The extensions also extended along the canal to a level of 100 km at an estimated cost of 500 million pounds. The importance of the new Suez Canal project lies in the positive return it imposes on the Egyptian economy.
