How to grow a home garden

Agriculture brings comfort, peace and tranquility to the human heart, and it is one of the peaceful identities that help clear the mind. A person’s access to a home garden, whether it is large or small, the size of a balcony, provides him with a place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature and the creativity of the Almighty Creator. Having a garden and landscaping around you relieves stress and tiredness of the day.

Cultivating a home garden requires patience and some effort and care, and here are some ways that you can follow to get a home garden:

  • Choose the appropriate plants, depending on the climate of your area and the general atmosphere, as well as the space. For example, it is difficult to grow a tropical plant in a cold area, and you cannot plant forest trees on your balcony. Therefore, make sure to choose the right plants for your place of residence. It is also preferable to choose evergreen plants and fruit trees for your garden as basic plants. For example, if your garden is large, you can plant lemon trees, apples, and apricots if the weather in your area is suitable. And you can bring seasonal plants that you plant during the season for decoration, such as flowering seedlings, which leave seeds at the end of their season, so that you can plant them in the next season. And you can also grow plants with bulbs, as they multiply quickly and in large quantities, and after they bloom and their roses wither, their leaves remain green, like that of daffodils.
  • Choosing the appropriate location for the appropriate plant, for example if the plant loves light, you should not plant it in a dark place, and if the plant grows in the presence of dim light, do not plant it in a sunny place, so that the plant grows as it should and so that it does not wither and die. And it must also be taken into account that there are indoor and outdoor house plants, and therefore indoor plants should not be grown outside and outdoor plants inside the house.
  • An appropriate amount of water, so you must take into account that plants are living, breathing creatures that need nutrition and water, and therefore they must be watered as they should and in the proportions they need. There are some plants that love water a lot, and others prefer water and little irrigation. Therefore, take sufficient information from specialists about your plants and the appropriate amount of irrigation for each of them.
  • Fertilization, compost gives plants the organic materials they need, so be sure to fertilize the soil from season to season so that your plants grow properly and in a healthy way.
  • Prevention of insects and pests, by using appropriate materials to control insects and harmful pests.
  • Using nutrients for plants. There are materials used to feed plants, such as iron, which is mixed with irrigation water and used from time to time.
  • Appropriate pruning, the pruning process must be done at the appropriate time, in order for the branches to grow more strongly, but in moderation, so do not over-prune them.
