Where they developed the poetic language, which was characterized by the use of many vocabulary and expressions that were not used in most of the previous poems, due to a group of factors that affected the modern poetic structure, including: temporal changes, the emergence of many previously unknown concepts, and the style The poetic was distinguished by its simplicity, and contributed to the spread of modern poetry among the people. Poems written in the modern style are still used in many literature and school curricula.

There are many poets in the modern era who have made a significant contribution to the development of Arabic poetry, including:

Badr Shaker Sayyab

He was born in 1926 AD in the village of Jekur in Iraq, and went to Baghdad to complete his studies, and studied the English language, and he was interested in Arabic literature, and reading Arab poets, such as: Al-Mutanabbi, and he lived a difficult life, which had a great impact on his poems, and he is considered one of the most important poets of poetry Hadith, and he has a group of poetic compositions, and among his most famous collections and poems: The Rain Song. Badr Shaker al-Sayyab died in 1964 AD.

Ibrahim Touqan

He was born in the year 1905 AD in the Nablus Governorate in Palestine, where he studied the primary stage, then completed his studies in Jerusalem, and in the secondary school stage he was influenced by Arabic poetry and the Arabic language, and he traveled to Beirut to complete his university studies, and obtained a degree in literature, and in 1936 AD he worked He was in the Arabic language department of Al-Quds Radio, and he is considered one of the famous Palestinian poets, and one of his most famous poems is: My Mawtani, and he died in 1941 AD.

Abu al-Qasim al-Shabi

He was born in the year 1909 AD in Shabiya in Tunisia, and learned the origins of the Arabic language from his father, and became an old man like him, and then obtained a degree in law, but he preferred to maintain his interest in Arabic literature, so he wrote poetry, and he used to read poetry written by the writers of the diaspora, and called for The independence of Tunisia from the occupation of France, and one of his most famous poems: The Will of Life, and he died in 1934 AD.

Hafez Ibrahim

Born in 1871 AD in Egypt, he studied law, then joined the military studies to become an officer, retired from military work, worked in the Book House, wrote patriotic poetry in which he expresses the English occupation of Egypt, and learned the French language, which helped him translate some books into the language Arabic, and one of his most famous poems: The Arabic Language Poem, and he died in 1932 AD.

Omar Abu Risha

He was born in 1910 A.D. in Acre in Palestine. He studied elementary school in Jisr Al-Shughour in Syria, then completed his studies in Acre and Aleppo, and studied Arabic literature in Beirut, and from here he was influenced by Arabic poetry and started writing it. Omar's father refused that his son write poetry, so he sent him to study chemistry in London, but he continued to write poetry, worked in the diplomatic corps, and moved between many countries in the world.

Samih Al-Qasim

Born in 1939 AD in Zarqa in Jordan, and completed his studies in Nazareth in Palestine, Samih Al-Qasim was arrested more than once by the Zionist occupation forces, due to his refusal to join the Israeli army, and wrote many patriotic poems about Palestine, and was accompanied by his friend, the poet, for most of his life. Mahmoud Darwish, and he has many poetic books, including: Diwan Samih Al-Qasim. He passed away in 2014 AD.
