Judgment and proverbs

Over the years, the Arabs have become famous for their poetic and prose eloquence. Therefore, God Almighty revealed the Qur’an to our master Muhammad - peace and blessings be upon him - in an eloquent Arabic language, as a challenge to the Arab nation in particular, and the world as a whole. This is a clear indication that the Arabs are the source of cultures and civilizations. So, dear reader, look at the poetry of the Mu’allaqat. And read the collections of poets in the pre-Islamic era, perhaps you will understand the essence of this statement.

The ruling differs in its content and intended meaning completely from what is contained in the proverbs. Proverbs are more like advice and are often a warning for anything that may happen to a person in the future. As for proverbs, they are more like a lesson taken from a story, event, or saying. Proverbs usually carry with them sarcasm. These are examples of some sayings and proverbs:

  • One rose for a living person is better than a whole bouquet on his grave.
  • Make fun of all the wounds did not know of the pain.
  • Your need for the heart of a woman whom you trust, who trusts you, who feels comfortable with her, and who feels comfortable with you is like a ship’s need for its own place of anchorage on the shore. A man without a woman is like a ship at sea without an anchor. They both die of thirst, and the sea is all water around them.
  • Do not trust the heart of women, nor the winter sun, nor the world; It is the abode of annihilation, but trust in a brother whom your mother did not give birth to, but whom days gave birth to for you. If the most beautiful thing in roses is nectar, then the most beautiful thing in the world is a friend.
  • Not all that glitters is gold.
  • Not everything a person desires is achieved. Winds blow in a way that ships do not desire
  • Your tongue is your horse; If you protect him, he will protect you, and if you betray him, he will betray you.
  • One of the greatest pieces of engineering is to build a bridge of hope over a river of despair
  • Beware of your enemy once and your friend a thousand times. If the friend turns, he knows better what the harm will be.
  • Good deeds bring light to the face, light to the heart, strength to the body, abundance of sustenance, and love in the hearts of creation, while bad deeds bring darkness to the face, darkness to the heart, weakness in the body, lack of sustenance, and hatred in the hearts of creation.
