How to copy a disc to a computer

You can copy the disc to your computer by following these steps:

  • Insert the CD into the computer to which you want to copy the disc.
  • Click on the Start button located in the bottom left corner of the screen, then click on the Control Panel option.
  • Double-click the CD-ROM drive icon that contains the disc, then click on the main window.
  • Press the Control key and the A key together to select all the files, then click the Control key and the C key to copy all the selected files.
  • Create a new folder on the desktop by right-clicking on an empty spot on the desktop, then clicking on the Create Folder option, and naming it.
  • Open the new folder that was created, then click on an empty place inside the folder, and select the Paste option to show all the contents of the disc inside the folder.

Burn a disc using ImgBurn

You can resort to using the ImgBurn program to copy a disc to a computer. This is done by following the following steps:

  • Download ImgBurn to your computer and install it.
  • Open the program, and select the option to create an image file from the disc, in order to copy the disc to the computer, so that it can be kept, or re-copied to another disc.
  • Click on the Source option, then choose the drive (CD/DVD) that you want to copy, so you must pay attention to choosing the correct drive in the case where there are multiple drives on the device.
  • Click on the small folder next to the Customize icon, then choose the name of the file, and specify the location to save it. Pay attention to the need to remember where the copy is saved, as it will be needed later.
  • Press the large button at the bottom of the window after selecting the saving location. It is a disc with an arrow pointing to a file, as it is the read button that will copy the CD to the computer.
  • Ensure that the copying process has completed successfully, by noting that the Complete bar located at the bottom of the screen has reached 100%. An alert will also pop up to confirm that the CD has been copied to the folder that was specified.

Copy a disc to a memory stick (USB)

You can copy the images and information on a disc to the memory stick by doing the following:

  • Connect the memory stick to its port on the computer, then allow the device to recognize it.
  • Select the CD from which you want to take the copy, then right-click on it and select the Send to option, then select the storage segment to transfer the copy to. The computer usually names it the removable disk. After that, you must wait until the copying process is finished, which may take Several minutes depending on the amount of information to be copied.
