If he is wronged, may God save him. . So she went out with sadness, as she knew that Al-Hajjaj hated her son, and it is more likely that he will be executed in the two papers. . Her son said to her, "Don't worry, mother, and leave the matter to me." Indeed, Al-Hajjaj wrote the word "executed" on the two papers. And the crowd gathered on the promised day to see what Kulthum would do. And he chose his card and said: I chose this one. Then he swallowed it without reading it.. The governor was amazed and said, "What have you done, O Kulthum? You ate the paper without us knowing what was in it!" Kulthum said: O Lord, I chose a leaf and ate it without knowing what was in it, and in order to know what was in it, look at the other leaf, for it is the reverse. . So the governor looked at the remaining paper, and it was {executed} and they said, Kulthum chose not to be executed.

His balance, a person who looks at his account, a person who weighs his work, a person who thinks about what he reads tomorrow in his newspaper and sees it in his balance, and he has a rebuke in his heart and a command in his mind, a person who takes the reins of his work as he takes the reins of his camel, if it leads him to obey God he follows him and if it leads him to disobey God Stop, a person who has reasoned about God’s affairs, a person who has transcended and sobered up and hated disobedience and hypocrisy, and he was to what is with God with longings, and he kept saying a person until Malik bin Dinar cried.
- Sharik al-Qadi said, on the authority of Abd al-Malik bin Umair, he said: Al-Hajjaj once said: Whoever has a calamity, we give him according to his destiny. Then a man got up and said: Give me, for I killed Al-Hussein, so he said: How did you kill him? He said: I crushed him with the spear and smashed him to pieces with the sword, and I did not join anyone with me in killing him. And he didn't give him anything.
