Can hair be dyed after henna?

henna

Henna is a natural substance extracted from the bark of perennial trees. The leaves are used after they dry, grind, and knead with water or an infusion of any herbal substance such as chamomile or hibiscus as a cosmetic product to decorate the hair and skin. Henna has been used since the time of the Pharaohs. Queen Cleopatra used it to draw patterns on her hands and feet, and to color her hair. Since that time, this tradition has spread and become part of popular heritage throughout the Arab world. Henna is used to dye hair for both men and women alike.

One of the benefits of using henna for hair is hardly hidden. It gives it strength and density, and rids it of breakage and dryness. However, despite these advantages, it prevents a woman from changing the color of her hair after using it, because it penetrates the hair and forms an insulating layer that prevents it from receiving any other substance, so many women face difficulty in getting rid of it. Easily dye your hair with new dyes.

Conditions for dyeing hair after henna

  • A period of no less than six months must pass after applying henna to the hair so that it can be easily removed from it. Because henna penetrates into the outer and middle layers of the hair, it becomes very difficult to get rid of it after a short period of use, especially if the henna is the original type, and not the commercial type that is sold in the market.
  • It is necessary to cut the ends of the hair every once in a while. Because the henna is strongly concentrated in it, and this facilitates the process of removing it.
  • Washing the hair with water with drops of vinegar or lemon juice added to it. This helps to dissolve the henna material from the hair, and also shortens the duration of its presence on it.
