Gihon River site
The Jihon River is the largest river in the Central Asian region, as its length is 2540 kilometers, and its water volume is 309000 square kilometers. It is one of the rivers that lie on the borders of Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Most of the waters of this river flow in the territory of Tajikistan with 72.8% of the river’s water. The river is formed by the confluence of the Vakhsh River with the Pandj River, and empties into the Aral Sea through the delta.
