What is the end of the night called?

God Almighty created this enormous universe within an extremely precise system. Despite its greatness and everything that exists in it, it proceeds in an order. Likewise, God Almighty created the time in which all the processes that occur in this universe are organized, and He made this time precisely organized. Very much, so that he divided it into night and day, and gave each of them a specific time for their appearance, so that the night does not overshadow the day, and the day does not overshadow the night, as stated in the Almighty’s saying: “And a sign for them is the night. The All-Knowing, and We have destined the moon for stations until it has returned like the ancient Arjūn. Neither the sun should overtake the moon nor does the night precede the day, and they all swim in an orbit.”

The Earth, like other celestial bodies floating in space, moves in fixed paths called cycles. It has two cycles: a cycle around the sun, which results in the four seasons. This cycle takes a full year, and a cycle around itself. The reason for the origin of day and night is due to the Earth’s rotation around itself from west to East in a period of 24 hours, but this movement is so slow that no one feels it, so the day is formed on the side opposite the sun, and the night is in the part farthest from the sun, and as a result of the slow movement of the Earth, night and day alternate in an orderly and gradual manner so that neither of them dominates the The other: This is one of the blessings of God Almighty upon man. He has made the day for him to do his work and seek his livelihood, and he has made the night for him to sleep and rest from the trouble of the day.

Man has been able to divide each of the night and day into 12 hours since ancient times, and the number of these hours does not change with the seasons. Rather, only the length of the hour itself changes. However, these divisions were not given numbers. One of the masterpieces of the Arabic language is that the Arabs were able, through it, to give each of these hours. Sections are a suitable name, and in this article we will mention the hours or sections of the night as they were called among the Arabs in the past:

The time of nightLabel
First hourWitness, testimony, or compassion
two o'clockdusk
three o'clockThe darkness
four o'clockCharcoal or charcoal
five o'clockLamuhan or jahmah
six o'clockCutting or shoeing
Seven o'clockAl-Jawshan, Zalfa, or Al-Jawsam
Eight o'clockAl-Hataka, Al-Nazha, or Al-Abaka
Nine o'clockWitchcraft or magic
ten o'clockThe first dawn or dawn
Eleven o'clockThe second dawn, morning, or fair
Twelve o'clockThe intervening dawn, or morning, or dawn, which is the last hour of the night

We may find some of these names mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, including magic, as stated in the Almighty’s saying: “And with the morning prayer they seek forgiveness.” What is meant by magic is the last third of the night, which is the blessed time in which a Muslim’s prayers are answered.
