Sodium bicarbonate
It is called sodium bicarbonate or baking soda, and it is a chemical compound whose chemical formula is NaHCO₃, and its density is about 2.20 grams per cubic centimeter, and it melts at a temperature of fifty degrees Celsius, and its boiling point is fifty-one degrees Celsius, and it has many different uses, and we will discuss them here in some detail.
Use of sodium bicarbonate
Personal Care
It has many uses, the most important of which are:
- Cleaning teeth: By adding an amount of hydrogen peroxide to it, so that the resulting mixture cleans and whitens teeth.
- Oral resuscitation: Mix it with a quantity of water, and rinse it.
- Getting rid of facial pimples: Mix it with water to form a paste and massage the face in the form of circular motions.
- Eliminate the smell of sweat: Put an amount of it directly under the armpit.
- Hand cleaning and disinfection: By adding a quantity of it to liquid soap, and washing hands with it using liquid water, or by mixing it with an amount of honey and flour, and massaging the hands with the resulting mixture, so that it helps to get rid of the accumulated dirt and impurities.
- Hair lotion: Especially when you need to get rid of hair straighteners.
Clean smooth surfaces

- Furniture: Many mothers suffer from written walls because of the presence of children in the house, and the solution here is simple, which is to bring a sponge soaked in an amount of sodium bicarbonate, and rub the walls with it gently, and then dry it.
Deodorizing
It helps to get rid of many annoying odors, including the following:
- fridge smell: By putting an amount of it in an open box and leaving it inside the refrigerator.
- chopping board: Specifically used for cutting vegetables, by placing an amount of them on these plates, rubbing them well, and then washing them with water.
- Litter bins: Putting a quantity of them in the bottom of these boxes.
- Recycled materials: Most notably, the containers and jars used for storage, by bringing a sponge soaked in this water, cleaning the containers with it in the presence of water, and then drying them.
