Scabies disease and its treatment

Lice is one of the annoying skin diseases that affect the head and body, and many people are bothered by it and are looking for a permanent treatment for it. Therefore, in this article, we will talk about lice, define it, and mention methods of treatment and getting rid of it.

What is lice?

It is a small insect that is about 2.5 mm long. This insect has several characteristics, including:

  • This insect feeds on human blood
  • It is considered small; It is almost the size of a sesame seed
  • It has six legs
  • It clings to the scalp and neck
  • This insect lays eggs, and its eggs stick to the hair near the scalp, and are difficult to see.

The groups most affected by ulceration

Lice spreads widely among school students, especially young ones in primary school. When children at this age play together, they get very close to each other, and they behave in simple ways, but they help in the transmission of lice between them. You see them sharing hair clips, hats, and other head tools. Adults may also become infected with lice by infecting their children.

How do lice spread?

Lice cannot jump or fly from one person to another, so this insect spreads through direct contact with the head. This connection allows lice to be transmitted from one hair to another, and lice can survive for a short period on personal items such as a brush, clothes, etc. Therefore, every child must have his own hairbrush to avoid transmitting lice from one person to another.

How are lice found?

Lice can be seen with the naked eye, although they are small in size. The lice on the head are white, brown, or dark gray, and are usually found behind the ears or on the back of the neck. Lice eggs, called nits, are in the form of round or oval spots that stick tightly to the hair close to the scalp, and must be removed from the hair. An effective way to find lice is to comb wet hair.

Symptoms of lice

Itching is the most common symptom and the biggest warning sign of the presence of head lice. It begins weeks or even months before, and the itching is caused by the appearance of this insect moving around the head.

Treatment for dandruff

Lice cannot be eliminated automatically; There are some steps that must be followed to get rid of lice in the hair, including:

  • Lice shampoo must be treated with special shampoo, and it is necessary to follow the instructions written on it.
  • You should use a comb designed for lice and nits.
  • It is preferable to use mayonnaise, white vinegar, or tea tree oil. These ingredients are effective in getting rid of lice. Too much mayonnaise suffocates lice if placed on the hair, and vinegar in turn dissolves the glue that helps the insect remain stuck to the hair.

Although lice do not remain on the bed for a long time, it is best to get rid of them by washing the bed and clothes that the person infected with lice was wearing.
