Bardawil Lake

Burullus Lake

Lake Burullus is located on the northern coast of Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate. It is the second largest natural lake in Egypt in terms of area, with an area of ​​approximately 493.72 square kilometers. Lake Idku is located in the north of the Delta, with Lakes Manzala and Burullus, and it is connected to the White Sea. It was known in the past as the Valley of the Stars. It is mentioned that it arose from one of the seven branches of the Nile River in the Delta, which is known as the Canopic branch. The lake is distinguished by its cleanliness, as it is considered one of the cleanest and least polluted northern lakes. It is also distinguished by its large production capacity despite its small area, which amounts to about 60.8849 square kilometers, due to its great depth compared to the depth of the rest of the lakes.
