Shoulder pain

The shoulder, like other parts of the body, is affected by many different health problems that lead to feeling pain in it, especially since it consists of an integrated group of tendons, muscles and joints, which work as an integrated system to create movement of the hand arm, and shoulder pain is usually the result of a blow or defect. specific functional; Therefore, we will discuss here the most prominent reasons that lead to shoulder pain, and the most prominent of these reasons are the following:

Causes of shoulder pain

  • Suffering from certain infections: There are a group of infections that lead to shoulder pain, the most important of which are the following:
  • Tendon infections, specifically acute or chronic tendon infections, which cause swelling and puffiness, and thus collision between the bones, resulting in pain.
  • Bursal infections affect the sacs in the shoulder joints, which are filled with a certain fluid. Their function is to facilitate the movement of the arms, because they reduce the friction between the shoulder bones and their muscles. When these sacs become swollen and inflamed, they lead to feeling great pain.
  • Internal inflammation occurs as a result of certain positions taken by the arms that affect the shoulder, specifically those that require circular movements such as painting ceilings or swimming. Therefore, their repetition causes internal inflammation of the shoulder, and then severe pain.
  • Rheumatoid arthritis, whether it affects the shoulder or neck.
  • Frozen shoulder joint: It is a disease that affects the shoulder and leads to feeling great pain, which may not stop in the shoulder alone, but rather extends to the entire arm, so that the affected person feels that his shoulder is frozen, and is unable to move it normally, in all directions.
  • Roughness and inflammation of the acromioclavicular joint: which occurs as a result of excessive movement of the shoulder joints, specifically the joint called the clavicle, resulting in a specific pain that the injured person feels when he moves his shoulder in a specific direction, specifically when performing some sports exercises that require carrying large weights.
  • Biceps brachii tendinitis: This occurs as a result of carrying large weights, or performing exercises that require the person to raise his arms above his head, causing pain in the shoulder, and may lead to damage to the shoulder tendons if neglected and not treated.
  • Pressure on the nerve roots in the neck: Inflammation does not stop only in the shoulder. Sometimes the neck is affected by certain problems or infections that negatively affect the shoulder, and thus pain is felt, especially when the neck is moved.
  • Injuries or fractures: The shoulder is exposed to certain injuries or accidents that lead to a fracture, which necessarily causes pain.
