  • Achieving entertainment, enjoyment, and entertainment for children, by reading stories and books that are purposeful, interesting, and easy in style; So that it takes into account the mind of the child, and his way of thinking.

Types of reading and the importance of each

There are many types of reading; According to its objective, and the method in which it is carried out, and each of these types is a method and method, and below we mention these types, and the importance of each of them:

  • Skimming Reading: It is quick reading and quick browsing, by turning the pages and looking at them without paying attention to the details. To find out whether a person wants to buy it or not, or to determine the priority of the book for him, or to explore the general type of reading material in the book, its level, and its nature, and to reach the general meaning of an article or a specific text.
  • Scanning Reading: It is also known as introspective, researcher, or investigative reading: it is rapid reading; With the aim of reaching an answer to a specific question, and not paying attention to anything but it; In this type of reading, the entire text is not read, but is passed by looking at the lines; In search of specific information or content, such as searching for a phone number, a specific phrase, or an address, and capturing reading is similar to browsing reading in terms of search and speed, except that the reader in the first type searches for a general idea about the book, while in the second type The search is for a specific, specific thing.
  • Reading for study (in English: Study Reading): It is reading with the aim of understanding and assimilating aspects of the reading material, and achieving success in education and study. Where reading in this type is done carefully and focused, and thus it differs from the two readings: catching and browsing.
  • Critical reading: It is reading in depth and concentration, and requires the use of higher thinking skills, mental and physical preparation; With the aim of evaluating the material read, and expressing an opinion on it, and this type of reading requires creating the appropriate atmosphere for it, through an initial reading; To understand the text, comprehend it, define the goals of reading, and stay away from distractions, sources of disturbance, and wandering of the mind. It also requires comprehending the material, taking it well, and dividing the long material into parts. to make it easier to understand.
  • Creative reading: It is considered the highest type of reading, and the most positive and active one. It aims to understand the reader, express an opinion on it, and present a new and innovative product, based on what has been understood from the reader, and scientific research is one of the areas of application of this type of reading; Where the researcher reads the same topic from several references, and looks at it from several angles; To discover all the events, facts, and matters contained in the reading material.
