God Almighty has explained the virtue of patience in the face of harm and forgiveness. The Muslim must realize, first of all, that harm and benefit are in the hands of God Almighty, so his heart can be reassured by that, and he should know that what befell him was not going to miss him, and what missed him was not going to befall him, and that when a person calls upon God Almighty, he calls upon Him while he is certain that his prayer will be answered, so in the hadith, “Supplicate.” Your Lord, and you are certain of the answer. In another hadith, the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, clarifies the truth of submission to God’s judgment, where he said while admonishing Ibn Abbas and teaching him (O boy, I am teaching you words. Save, God will protect you. Save God, and you will find Him in your direction. If you ask, then ask God.) And if you seek help, seek help from God, and know that if the entire nation were to gather to harm you with anything, they would not harm you except with something that God has written for you, and if they gathered to benefit you with anything, they would not benefit you except with something that God has written for you. Supplication is considered one of the means by which a Muslim can protect himself from the evils of people. When he leaves his house, he says, “In the name of God, with whose name nothing on earth or in heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.” Likewise, many hadiths have been reported on how to perform ruqyah to protect the soul. Among them is his saying, peace and blessings be upon him: In the name of God, I perform ruqyah for you from everything that harms you, and from the evil of every soul or envious eye, may God heal you. Just as the dawn prayer and performing it on time is the best protector for a Muslim, so whoever performs it is under the protection of God.
