This tour includes a visit to the Museum of Stone Inscriptions in Gobustan (the internal and external museum), which is located 70 km from Baku, as this tour represents a leap in history through which it goes back to the era of stone drawings and the first alphabets, so it fascinates with the stone archive of human development on the surface of the globe, and takes a look On the stories and news of ancient man preserved for thousands of years on these rocks. Rock paintings are the first message written by primitive man and sent to the world around him, and there are a few of them in Azerbaijan.

One of these stone letters, and the largest of all, is located in Gobustan within the Baku Archaeological Art and History Reserve, near the city of Baku, where you will find a rocky stone isolated from the rest of the stone blocks in the southeastern part of the Greater Caucasus mountain range, close to the Caspian Sea and adjacent to the Baku road The newly built highway over the old Shirvan Road.

On the mountains of Gobustan, you will see the history of the Azerbaijani people embodied in rock letters dating back to the Stone Age, which primitive man dug to date his culture and practical view, in addition to primitive paintings in which he expressed his adventures, fears, faith and customs with drawings and engravings on the walls of caves and rocks. In this area you will find evidence of the first graves, which qualifies it strongly to be a world heritage.

After this scene from human history, you will move with us to the Baku Archaeological Mosque “Bibi Heybat Mosque” in Azerbaijan. This mosque now standing is a restoration of the ancient mosque built in the thirteenth century by “Shirvan Shah Farrukhzad Ibn Ahshtan II”, which was completely destroyed by the Bolsheviks (in 1936 AD).

In the mosque you will find the shrine of “Aqima Khanum”, which is from the dynasty of our master Muhammad (may God bless him and grant him peace), and this is what strengthened it as a spiritual beacon for the Muslims of this region and an architectural edifice with a distinctive Islamic style in Azerbaijan.

Its name changed when Alexander Thomas visited it, so he renamed it “Fatima Mosque” (in 1840 AD) and kept this name to this day.
